New board members: Continue your learning journey during Texas Trustee Institute at txEDCON24. Get specialized training to be a successful and collaborative part of your board and network with other new board members from across the state. Preregistration is required to reserve your seat for this training designed just for new trustees!

The training for new trustees required by the State Board of Education is extensive. The content provided during the two-day TTI (or as free bonus content on-demand) satisfies the following requirements: 

  • required Open Meetings Act training 
  • required Child Abuse Prevention (Sexual Abuse, Human Trafficking, and Other Maltreatment of Children) (free on-demand training included)  
  • required 10 additional hours of continuing education for new trustees 

In addition to the required Child Abuse Prevention session, TTI participants will receive free access to other on-demand courses on parliamentary procedures, school finance, advocacy, and other valuable introductory topics. These would also provide credit applied to the 10 additional hours of continuing education.
