The Small School District Seminar is designed for schools with 999 or fewer students and focuses on how small systems across the state implement creative solutions to overcome the significant challenges small schools face and leverage the incredible advantages small schools have to offer.
This year’s program will be facilitated by Dr. Amy Jacobs, TASA Executive Superintendent and former Coahoma ISD Superintendent and Orin Moore, TASB Senior Board Development Consultant.
The session begins with a keynote by Melanie Mayer, small schools graduate, educator, author, and speaker who will talk the legacy of small schools and then will spotlight Alpine ISD Superintendent, Dr. Michelle Rinehart, who will focus on small school finance and driving bold change in your districts.
TASA Deputy Executive Director of Advocacy, Brian Woods, will highlight promoting change through advocacy and then we will hear stories of innovation, transformation and ingenuity from superintendents and board members from West Sabine ISD (559 students), Wortham ISD (520 students) and Port Aransas ISD (524 students).
